What's your holiday shipping schedule?

  • In most cases, new orders will ship 1-2 days after the order is placed. 
  • You will receive an email notification with tracking information shortly after your box ships (which may take up to 48 hours after the box leaves our store).

  • Reading Bug Box will apply a FREE Rush delivery upgrade (via USPS Priority mail) for the first box for any 6- or 12-month subscriptions ordered before Dec. 22.

  • Reading Bug Box is happy to try to accommodate any special shipping needs to the best of our ability - email us with any unique shipping requests.

What is in a Reading Bug Box?

Each box contains a selection of books and gifts, hand-selected by our in-store staff to match the age and interest of the recipient. Individual boxes will contain 2-3 books, and we'll send 4-6 titles in each Reading Bug Box for Two. The emphasis is on the books, but extra gift items are also often included to compliment the books, helping children and families engage with their new reading material.

What if I already have one of the books? Can I return it?

If you end up with a book you already have, you can return it to us for a replacement, or save on shipping costs by donating to a local library or charity. For donations, snap a picture of your book donation to and we will give you a $5 gift card to spend in-store or online for any of the millions of titles available at

What if my child doesn't like one of the books?  

We welcome your feedback!  Always keep your preferences up-to-date by logging into your account at and clicking the "Edit" button next to your subscription. Reading Bug Box selections grow and change as your child's interests and reading skills grow and change!

How can I change my reader's preferences?  

You can update your reader's preferences or send us more information to help our team of experts personalize your Reading Bug Box any time!  Log into your account at and use the "Edit" button next to your subscription to make changes.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your card will be charged on the first day you subscribe. You will be rebilled on the last day of each subsequent month. Boxes ship between the 15th and 20th of each month, and any order placed before the 20th will ship its first box in the current month. 

When will my Reading Bug Box ship?

All boxes ship between the 15th and the 20th of the month. Payments received after the 20th will apply to the next month's box.

Can you ship my box earlier than the 20th? 

Yes! If you need your box shipped earlier than the 20th of the month - to arrive in time for a birthday, for example, we'd be happy to accommodate your request.  Just send us an email at and we'll reply ASAP.

How can I skip a shipment?

Skipping a shipment is easy. Log into your account at and use the "Edit" button next to your subscription to make the change.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

For month-to-month subscriptions: Cancel any time before billing (last day of each month) to avoid charges and receipt of the month's box. For 6-, or 12-month subscriptions:  Once you cancel, you will not be billed for another term, but you cannot be refunded for boxes remaining in the term (For example, if a 6-month subscription is canceled after the fourth month, two more boxes will still be shipped). Cancel before the last day of the month of your renewal to avoid being charged for the next term. Renewal dates are shown in shipping emails from Reading Bug Box or in the "My Account" section of
